salome has gone!

Hi, can anyone help here..I'm a newbie with CAElinux and am trying desperatly to use it at work. I have set it running in the vmware machine and am awaiting a new pc to run it on properly.
My problem is, I was running and learning salome with no problem and now suddenly, I can't run it. the icon shortcut does not work and the run icon in /opt/salmone does not work. I cant find it in the reload or update in pclinux update or any other easy to use utility. I am in the process of downloading salome from their website, however, I'n not sure which one to choose.
Can anyone suggest how I can get salome running again.
