ONCE AGAIIN GAMBIT TO CODE SATURNE was created by Kenneth Macleod
I have tried this and i am not being successful there is no documentation just a statement it can be done.

I have exported the gambit mesh as a neu.. however when you do that the boundary condition faces disapear the exported
geometry is now useless can anyone help it has been close to a month trying to get any information on this supposed functionality
within code Saturne to be compatible with Gambit fluent mesh..

If anyone know how to do this i would appreciate a reply.

I am about to abandon using this code as a useful tool...

Hello,

You would get more or faster help on a dedicated Code_Saturne forum.

Simply Googling "code_saturne forum" will lead you to a link to the main Code_Saturne forum, now replaced by a new forum at www.code-saturne.org (the announce is on the old forum, so you cannot not find it).

Mentioning a few minor details such as code version, Gambit version, 2D or 3D, mesh features, may also avoid the first reply being those quesyions.

Is your mesh 2D or 3D ? Only 3D is supported (2D meshes can be extruded by 1 layer if necessary).
Also, are your boundary conditions defined on vertices or faces. Except for the CGNS format, they are handled only for faces (the "general remarks" section in the user documentation mentions it).

Also, GAMBIT boundary conditions are transformed into mesh "groups" (easily verified using the mech checking tools of the Code). You can use those groups to define Code_Saturne boundary conditions, but they are not transformed directly into boundary conditions (this is less automatic, but much more flexible).
The GUI has a button to do just this.

You can also define boundary conditions using face center coordinates or normals orientation, which is less praticle but is useful if not enough or incorrect groups were defined,

Thank you for replying.

The boundary conditions are setup on faces in the Gambit file.
It is a 3D model

I will check out the link you recommend.
