I would be interested in learning more from people who have tried using CAELinux for FEA work.
What sorts of things you have modeled? What tools did you use? External, or supplied mesh? How many nodes? How long did it take your model to run, if they ran at all. What sort of PC/memory?
If you have compared your results with other commercial tools, this would be very helpful as well!
Sorry if this has been covered, but this is all new to me.

Anything and everything. Code_Aster is used by many professionals outside EDF and around the world.
Many examples of real-world cases pop up daily on the CA forum.
Most people seem to be using powerful workstations, although some have experimented with clusters.
On a proffesional level, I have only used CA or Code_Saturne a few time since my current job is with hydraulics - but I have used it many times for hobby projects with great (or varying
) success.

Hello,
I have used Salome/CA for quite a few industrial problems for several years. Apart from the inadequacy of Salome to create complex models with ease, the analysis capabilities of CA are as good as many commercial codes, except for nonlinear hyper-elastic, hyper-foam simulation. In this respect Calculix has been the better tool in my experience/opinion.
Regards, JMB
