DraftSight

Dassault Systems have released a beta version of their Linux 2D CAD package DraftSight for download. Its free for personal use.

There are deb packages available but they are 32bit architecture. I was able to install it on CAElinux 2010 using the following command:

[code:1]sudo dpkg -i --force-architecture DraftSight.deb[/code:1]

It seems to run fine so far. I did have to install libdirectfb-extra to install it though.

Some of you may recognize these developers for their work with SolidWorks. Please support them, even though the software is proprietary, so that we may have more CAD software for Linux. (I hope I'm not breaking forum rules)
