I am glad to hear that SALOME-MECA 2010 will be available.
Since 2009.1 has been available a while. Is there any documentation to build 2009.1 so people can contribute to bring SALOME-MECA 2010, or at least give it a try. If any success then can share to others?

SaloméMECA is built inhouse at EDF and is as such not available as a source distribution. You would have to find the ASTER module source code and figure out how to build it along with the other modules of Salomé. It might be do-able, I think BrendaEM has fiddled around with it at www.salome-platform.org/forum/ - or perhaps it was some other user.
It seems a bit hard to contribute code to the Salome(MECA)/Code_Aster-Saturne projects as you would on regular open source projects using CVS or something similar - the best way is to propose patches and corrections on their respective forums and they will integrate them for you.
Salomé developers in particular have been open to suggestions for improvements, and I've made my mark on the new Salomé indirectly - so that my suggestion to you too.<br /><br />Post edited by: Claus, at: 2010/03/24 15:23
