If I create a live DVD with an upgraded installation can I install it on another machine? was created by Matthew Bondy
I bought a desktop and the live DVD for CAELinux 2009 will not load a GUI. It loads something called Busybox which seems to be some sort of terminal. I would like to install CAELinux because I have no idea how to install software in Linux (other than with a package manager). I have managed to install a couple of programs without using the package manager but I think they had some sort of installer.
Any ideas? I was thinking of creating a live DVD from the installation on my laptop (I think the desktop's hardware might be too new - one big issue could be the oem-only graphics card). Will this live dvd install properly on the desktop?
Thanks,
