Instalation in Hardisk Ubuntu 9.10 was created by Waluyo Adi Siswanto
I just found this site yesterday and I think it is "very" useful.
I am now downloading and I understand it will be hours.

One thing that I understand CAELinux is in a liveDVD.
Is there any guidelines How can install it in my Ubuntu 9.10, after downloading iso file.

Thanks, Waluyo

Hello , Waluyo

Burn your .iso . And reboot on this DVD.

You can also play with CAELinux.

See :

caelinux.com/CMS/index.php?option=com_co...;id=48&Itemid=40

another way is to use Virtualbox with 15 Giga virtualdisk.

But you should have strong hardware configuration.

I hope that these explanations will be useful for you.

Thank you for your reply.

In my understanding after reading from the link, If install in the hardisk, it will create operating system which is used by CAElinux 2009, i.e. Ubuntu 8.04.

Since I have already Ubuntu 9.10, then I will have a second operating system which I can select from grub booting loader.

What I am wondering is that, how can I install all CAElinux package but install in the existing Ubuntu 9.10, without adding additional Ubuntu 8.04 from LiveDVD CAElinux.

Thank you in advance and any information is highly appreciated.

Regards, Waluyo

Hoi Waluyo

of course you *can* install the separate parts of CAELinux on Ubuntu Karmic. It is a bit more work and maybe a bit more frustration to install eg Salome and Code Aster as separate packages. On my system with Ubuntu Karmic the latest versions of both packages are installed and run smoothly.
It is not so nicely integrated as CAELinux, but it works.

Your request corresponds to realize CAELINUX 2010.

I'm trying with difficulty to provide SALOME-MECA-2010.1.GPL

But , helps are welcome.
