Might be a bit late now that the v2009 has been out for several months now, but the ASME monthly trade magazine Mechanical Engineering, has a section called "Software Exchange" which lists a few new engineering software releases each issue. Here's a link to the online version of a recent issue:

Submitting an item for an upcoming issue is free, and just requires an email to the editors. Specifically:

Maybe for this release, or for the next one, this could get the release announcement out in front of thousands of engineers.
