Hi,
I appreciated what you have done by creating Salome Meca, but want it updated : )
There is a new Salome, offering new meshing tools and lot of bug fixes, as well as a new Code Aster. I do wonder, what's involved in making Salome and Aster work together? In other words, what did you have to do to make Salome Meca?
What I think would be great for many people is a Apt server install perhaps for Ubuntu or Debian, which would solve the other depends, such as some of the more obscure libraries, that we only find out about at run time. I would think that if Salome Meca could be installed with APT/Synaptic, then more people could experiment with it, become interested, and perhaps help out.
I also saw that someone was working on some translations of some kind.
[I've did some small experiments with Salome Meca. I did experiment with the disk version, but do want a single Linux boot, and so I used Ubuntu and downloaded the binaries. Creating and maintain an entire Linux installation must be quite a task. My thoughts are that I would rather have more current binaries that another complete boot. ]
