Installation was created by V-Twin
Hi all!
I downloaded Caelinux and burned the DVD. It all works perfectly, but since I have yet PCLinx installed on my PC I'd like to install CAELinux (with all the related sw) on my PC too. It is possible?

Hi,
at the moment, PCLinuxOs installer does not allow upgrades or re-installation. So the only simple options are:
1) backup your data and install CAELinux over your existing PCLinuxOS install. CAELinux Beta 1 is based on PCLinuxOs .91 and can be updated online as any other PCLinuxOS distro. Maybe you shold wait one week for the release of CAELinux beta 2 (based on the recent PCLinuxOS .92)
2) create another partition to install CAELinux separately: you will also need to customize manually your existing boot manager to take all installations into account. This can be rather complex if you are not familiar with the Linux boot process and LILO configuration.
If you are skilled and patient enough, you can also try to copy files between CAELinux & your install, but it will be rather difficult to copy all the required libraries ...
I hope this will help you in your installation process.
