Thanks for this link,

I am very interested in Tahoe, for my personal research first and CAELinux in the future.

I have also received this link about the ADVENTURE program adventure.q.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/project/
which seems also a very big project... I don't know if I will succeed in putting all these incredible softwares in CAELinux, but at least I will try to ...

Thank you all for all these nice suggestions.

Someone had already told that, but I think CAELinux (great piece of free software!) needs 3D geometry building.
salomè partly includes this, and the only open software that I know doing 3D CAD is BRL-CAD.
I don't mean to push this, that's only my idea.
anyone knowing of other software doing 3D CAD (maybe parametric, like PRO/E or CATIA, or managing NURBS), don't hesitate to post here or mail me.

Hi,

you are right, CAELinux is lacking other 3D modellers, and I will try to include BRL-CAD in the distro (even if I don't like it's logo: \"Solid modelling for a strong defense\" :( )

There are other projects, but some are not free and others are just not performing well for the moment (alpha versions).

But when installed to HDD; you can install whatever program you may want.

Here is also one proposition I have received recently:

opensees.berkeley.edu/

Non linear FEM with civil engineering as a primary target.

Will try to see if I can include it too...
