Konqueror becomes slow was created by mihe
Hi,
My Konqueror becomes slow. It sometimes takes about 1 min to open a folder.
I have installed CAElinux2007 on a Dell inspiron 6400. Perhaps I should update to CAElinux2008 before troubleshooting this problem?
Typically I have Salome, Astk, Mozilla, Nedit, Konqueror and a CAEconsole runing when the Konqueror becomes slow. Does anybody have an idea how to fix it?
Kind Regards
/mihe

I dont have a specific suggestion but you can try opening System Guard to see how much memory is being used, or which programs are using your processor. For me I can open system guard by right clicking on the line graphs by the clock.
Also, if you are using VMware, how much memory have you allocated to VMWare? if you allocate too much you will get memory swapping which makes things very slow like you said. In VMware Player, click VMware on the VMware menu bar, then Troubleshoot, then memory allocation. in my experience, I needed to set the memory below the recommended maximum to prevent swapping. Obviously, more memory is better if you can get away with it.
