Salome-Aster example was created by Guerout
Hello !
I tried the step by step tutorial example yesterday !
All work properly except the final calculation with Aster.
Find below the message of the Piston1.erre file :
VERSION DE LA BIBLIOTHEQUE MED UTILISEE PAR CODE_ASTER :2.2.2
VERSION DE LA BIBLIOTHEQUE MED POUR CREER LE FICHIER :2.1.6
UN UTILITAIRE VOUS PERMET PEUT-ETRE DE CONVERTIR VOTRE FICHIER (medimport)

Do you have an idea about this message !

Thanks
Yann

Hi,

this is due to a small mistake: you forgot to select MED version 2.2 when exporting your mesh from Salome.

So to correct this, save your mesh from Salome in a Med2.2 file and copy it in the base folder of your study (the path is shown in ASTK) & rename it correctly to replace the old med file.

This should solve your problem.

Hi,

I completed Salome tutorial. Exported to MED 2.2.
Started new FE, edited everything for the run. Clicked RUN. A progress windows popped up and closed later. Double clicked the piston1.erre file, a blank window popped up.

Later, I could find piston1res.med. I guess either run did not complete or start. Any suggestion?

I ran using the liveDVD. Do I need to create a folder on the hard drive to store the files? I have 1 GB RAM.

Thanks!

I am not sure to understand clearly: you CAN find piston1res.med but .erre file is empty?
Have you tried to open the .mess file? is it empty too?
Can you check the content of your ASTK project directory, do you have all the output files in there?

Normally, when *res.med file exists the job has completed successfully. Can you also click on \"Suivi des job\" (job manager) in ASTK and click \"Actualiser\" (update) to see the status of your jobs?

Hi,

Sorry, I meant I cannot find piston1res.med.

The piston1.mess is not empty. I do not understand the contents, though. I am not able to access USB (computer froze when I plugged in a usb drive), so, I am not able to save piston1.mess and post it here.

I will check the job manager next.

I clicked \"My Computer\" hoping to create a permant space on the hard drive, but, the computer crashed when I clicked \"My Computer\".

Wow,
your system seems really unstable.. maybe some \"unsupported\" hardware:
what is your motherboard / chipset / CPU ?
and did you use some special boot options like:
livecd noapic nolapic acpi=off
