opensuse buid service was created by Indesteege Richard
Hi,
First, let me express my admiration for the work done. It's great to have this kind of software available.
Currently I am using Ansys (version 5.5) and I will be switching to caelinux when I can install it on my current distro (opensuse10.2).
Here's my problem: as a user I'm not very keen on compiling myself; I have tried it with version 3b on opensuse 10.2, but got stuck somewhere, and after some twisting and tweaking the config scripts I abandoned with no succes.
However, for opensuse there is a software build-service (see en.opensuse.org/Build_Service) where one can drop the source and which is compiled into (rpm)packages for different hardware architectures, it is even possible to make images for virtualisation like Xen and Vmware.
This would then make the software easily installable, at least on opensuse.
Some of the packages in Caelinux can already be found on the buildservice, like the rpm packages for hdf5, blas and lapack.
Is it an option for Caelinux to drop the source of the packages on this build service?
Regards,
Richard
