hi
I'm using Autocad for my work designing building instalations heating ventilations electric sistems and water and sanitation. Is there a way I could use CAE Linux for that tipe of drawings? Can I use CAE Linux for my hydrodinamic calculus?
Thanks

Hello,
QCad is probably the software which is the closest to Autocad in CAELinux, but it will be probably not as complete as Autocad for very complex drawings.
For hydrodynamic calculation, I don't know this field, so i don't know which approach is used to solve such problems (analogy to electrical networks? Matlab-like scripts? CFD?).

yes it is analog to the eletrical circuits. I have to calculate the resistance that difrant types of pipes, shapes and diameters pose to fluid circulations, so it is analog to the electrical resistance of an circuit. So can I use for these CAELinux ?
Thank you for the previous respons (sorry for my english )

Take a look at one of the following codes:
EnergyPlus - US Dept of Energy building energy simulator - good program, but hard to figure out
esp-r - something similar by a university in the UK - very good documentation
visualspark - a more generic differential equation simulator
and all the variations of spice-like electric circuit simulators: for linux try gcap

No problem -- i'm learning building energy simulation myself.
oops sorry the last linux electric circuit simulator is called gnucap
