Hi,
Good day!
I am currently working on a cooling system. One of the cheapest method I found was to add fan blades on one of the hallow shaft's end,making the haft as a duct(d~=1.0in).The shaft is extremely slow (rpm<200).I am not so concern on a huge volume of air but rather just to facilitate airflow inside this small conduit(it's better than no flow at all).
My problem now is to justify that there is a flow inside that shaft and I want to optimize my blade design as much as possible to get the best out of it. The blade would probably made out of machined POM or aluminum.
Can anybody point me on how to model fan?

OpenFOAM can do some wild stuff. I have seen papers involving fluid structure interactions where particles in oil clog a filter. There are OpenFOAM forums here:
