Salome 5.1.3 Released

Hello,

Has anyone compiled Salomé 5.1.3 on CAELinux 2009? A tried to use the "Install Sources and Make Compilation" option on the 64bit Mandriva version only to wake up to bunch of compilation errors.

I have tried to find a walkthrough for Ubuntu 8.04 without any luck. Maybe this is because no one else is experiencing problems.

I hope there is some enlightenment out there

Do you have any special reason to try to compile the entire suite?

I just installed binaries form the installer of Mandriva 2008 on my Mandriva 2010-64, and all is ok. The only thing to do is to make a symbolic link from libgfortran.so.2 to libgfortran.so.3 (Salome looks for v.2 but Mandriva 2010 comes with v.3 of that library).

Thanks for your reply. Just to clarify; I am running CAELinux 2009 and I was trying to install on that operating system...

I downloaded the tar.gz file for Mandriva 64bit on the Salomé homepage because the instructions were that you should download any of the specified files and compile it yourself if your operating system was not mentioned.

Have a look in the wiki of www.code-aster.org. You will find a tutorial on how to install code-aster on Mandriva2010-64, and there are a few notes relatoed to Salome 5.1.3 too.

Thanks for the effort, but I am not looking to install on Mandriva, so I do not think the link will help me (unless there is something to be learned from that installation process...).

I am looking to install on CAELinux (Ubuntu 8.04).

Any help there?
