Bonjour
A 4-days Code-Aster Course treating Linear Mechanical and Contact Analyses will be held in October 20-23, 2009. The location is the Technologie Center Westbayern (TCW) in Nördlingen in the South of Germany. The course is organized by the Ingenieurbüro für Mechanik. Program and registration form can be downloaded at:

Hi Ign Ackva

I am Interested in this workshop...

Just one more detail, In www.code-aster.de the Late Summer School prospect refers to having Salome Meca installed in a Laptop... I can and will install it.

I already have Salome 5.1.2 as well as Code Aster 10 installed, will I have the opportunity to learn to work with Code Aster as a standalone F.E. Solver... ( I mean define and run a problem without using Salome Meca's wizzards although defining my mesh as a GMSH .msh or a Salome .med ) ?

I tried to use Salome Meca to define a Structure of beams and shells to be analyzed as 3D static but the interface would not allow me to define this as 3D structure...

This is a spatial structure... its DOF are supposed to be defined in 3D...

Perhaps using GMSH and Code Aster separately I might have been able to analyze this kind of structure ( mixed Elements )...

What do you say about this...?

One more thing, what will be the time shedule of the daily sessions...?

Best Regards

Alex

Yes. We mainly create .comm-files with EFICAS, and will also use ASTK.

"Perhaps using GMSH and Code Aster separately I might have been able to analyze this kind of structure ( mixed Elements )...What do you say about this...?"

If You send me Your problem, we can make it be a lesson of the Course.

"what will be the time shedule of the daily sessions"

We fix only the content given in the Course description. This has the advantage to be a bit flexibel for suggestions of participants. I think, Salome will be the smaller (and less important) part of the Course (20pct), the main topic is Code-Aster (80pct).

Hi Ing Ackva

Thanks for your answer.
I will send the specs of the structure I told you abount next week,

It is a simple structure, beams in compression/traction, bending and torsion, with shells fixed to the beams along their elastic line, and in discrete points by prestressed bolts. All materials, steel and aluminium, are assumed linear elastic and isotropic. Loads are imposed pontually and with surface disrtibution over the top shell of the structure.

I think that this is simple enough, yet complete enough with features to grasp the essence of most of the linear static analysis cases in ASTER... :

Mixed elements, beam section Inertia axis orientation, point vs surface load application, pre stress bolt modelling...

Is this simple enough to be tackled in an introductory course for Aster/Salome Meca...?

Hi Ing Ackva

Sorry for my late reply, been away from my PC, had to install a server in mech lab at Mech Department at University... Those guys understand nothing of freeBSD... :-(

Anyway, I will attach the specs tomorrow as *pdf, I guess there is a size limit for that...

If it gets too big I will send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.... right..?
