Boot on Ubuntu 10 was created by Laurent-Yves
Hi
I made a DVd with the ISO archive from Caelinux website. I boot my computer (Vaio) on the DVD and was able to see the first menu then selected the first option. The DVD started but the screen remained black and nothing hapened.
When I had a look at the ISO archive, the file called "Ubuntu" is empty, is it normal?
Somebody knows what is the problem and how I can solve it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Laurent

I had a problem with my graphics card on my laptop (an nvidia quadro). The easiest way to solve it was to attach and external monitor. what graphics card do you have?

I will try to connect an external monitor and will keep you informed.

Once you install the nvidia drivers things should work fine. There is also a command you can append to the boot options but I can't remember what it is.

Just to keep you informed that a external monitor solved the problem.
But I am trying to find a solution for using my laptop screen, this seems not so easy.

Now all is working well.
I tried to reboot a lot of time, choosing different option at all times and the system detected my graphic card.
I don't known exactly what was the sequence to solve the problem.
Regards,
