CAELinux 2008 damaged distribution was created by latif
Dear All,
I have downloaded CAELinux LiveDVD twice and it was 1.99 GB instead of 2.46 GB. Can anyone give me a link which will be of correct size as md5sum was not matching.
Pl look into this matter as it has wasted my two dvds and time.......

Are you downloading it to a (God forbid) FAT16 partition or some other weird filesystem? That could be a potential reason for your problem.

another cause of problem may be the FTP software that you use: it may not support files >2Gb too!
Personnally, I recommend you to download your file with Filezilla, and save it on a FAT32, ext3 or NTFS partition.

i have tried it out with cute ftp but it also shows 2gb distribution when i connect to ftp website. Can u please help me to find out the way?

on caelinux download page it is written as below

MD5Sum: cd6bc3085ae8d4de3d287ee6d4ec6aa1
but when i connect to ftp site what is show is as follows
FTP Directory : ftp://caelinux.dyndns.org/distrib/caelinux2008.1/
[FILE] CAELinux2008-VMWare.rar . . . . . Apr 18 2008 2GB [BIN] [ASC]
[FILE] CAELinux2008-VMWare.rar.md5.txt . Apr 18 2008 74Byte [BIN] [ASC]
[FILE] CAELinux2008.iso. . . . . . . . . Apr 14 2008 2GB [BIN] [ASC]

So how 2Gb distribution's md5sum will match with the above mentioned. can anyone help me.

If you use FileZilla, you will see the full file !!
