I need to simulate thick membrane with axial symmetry.
It is not reasonable to simulate such a membrane in 3D (even I did this) - I need a lot of nodes and I have extra useless information.
For example, in COMSOL Multiphysics there is special menu to choose geometry - 1D, 2D or 3D before start work.
How I can do this in SALOME-Meca?
May be there is example ore tutorial?

Valentin,
I have attached a really simple axisymmetric model of a cylinder. Note that the 2d selection is taken care of in the Code Aster Wizard.

Valentin,
Due to the size, I posted it to the wiki - see Cylinder_axi.tar.gz
Hopefully this helps.

Dear Robin,
Thank you for your help!
I have started analyze your files, however, I have such a feeling, that I have not enough experience in work with SALOME-MECA to understand how to do 2D simulations yet.
May be you have kind of step by step tutorial or slides or movie?
I studied movie describing simulation of a piston. After this, I repeated this simulations and, next, did the same for 3D membrane. It was easy enough, however it takes too much resources and practically useless in my case.
Maybe you know reference on such a tutorial?
Sincerely,
Valentin

Valentin,
The process is basically the same as the tutorials that you completed.
1.Draw your section in Salome, and make sure that your axis of revolution is the Y-axis.
2. Create your groups of where you will need to apply boundary conditions.
3.Switch to the mesh module and create your mesh, import your groups.
4. Switch to the Aster module and use the 2d stress wizard - axisymmetric.
5. Solve
I would recommend that you perform analysis on a simple structure to get a feel for the process, then work on your problem, That's basically what I was doing with the cylinder problem.
If you still need some help with this, you can post some details or contact me off line.
Regards
Robin
