axisymetric pb on code saturn was created by guillaume23
Hello

I am learning code saturne version 2.0.0-rc1.
I have no problem to make a 3D or 2D simulation but I cannot make a 2D axisymetric problem.

I am working with salome. I do a volumic 2D mesh (like a 2D study) and in periodic bondaries, I use periodicity of rotation defined by angle and direction. I want a cylindre so I use a 360 degree of rotation with a direction which is perpandicular of the radius.

When I check the mesh, I have some error.

Somebody have a solution for my problem?

Thank you

Guillaume

Try posting the error message. Do you run the preprocessor before? Sometimes it gives valuable information. Use it so:
cs_preprocess -m [your mesh file] --log [name for the logfile]
Check the logfile and see what it says. I had problems once having one face included in two different groups, and looking at the proprocessor log helped me to solve it.
Another thing, running the mesh check is optional, are you able to get good results running the simulation nevertheless? Otherwise, what error do you get in the listing file?.

hello,
here the listing file.
it is not the first time i use the preprocessing, before there was no problem.

I try without use the "check mesh" and I have this error inthe terminal :

********************************************
Preparing calculation
********************************************

********************************************
Starting calculation
********************************************

Error running the preprocessor.
Check preprocessor log (listpre) for details.

********************************************
Error in preprocessing stage.

According to your file, it says the rotation axis is bisecting a face. I'm not sure what that means, but try, just to see if the axis is the problem, to move it to another position not going through any surface.
There's a second warning about connectivity. Did you meshed with Gmsh? Gmsh meshes tend to occasionate that error, but it's solved easily by checking face orientation correction in the mesh selection tab under Saturne's GUI.
If the error persists, post the listing file, you'll find it in the tmp directory.
